A FAMILY of Tiggers leapt out of an aircraft at the weekend to raise money for the children’s hospital that treated a Sherston toddler.

Tigger was little Alfie-Ray Clark’s favourite character and when he died from a rare form of cancer two years ago, family and friends donned Tigger costumes for his funeral.

On Saturday they zipped them on once again to raise money for Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal with a skydive.

WORK on a housing development in Sherston has been on hold for the past month because of neighbours’ complaints that the new properties will be too high and could cause flooding.

Residents in Easton Square were so alarmed when they spotted a surveyor marking out a new ground level around a metre higher than the existing level that they alerted Wiltshire Council planners who issued a stop notice....

NEW young faces are behind the pumps at one of Malmesbury’s most historic watering holes.

Stephen Newton, 28 and girlfriend Hannah Soden, 21, have taken on their first full managerial role for Arkell’s Brewery at the King’s Arms.

Since they took over, turnover has tripled at the 12-bedroom inn even before the planned refurbishment scheduled to take place later this year....

FRAGMENTS of a priest’s robe found in the ruins of a French cathedral during the First World War will feature in a special service on North Wiltshire to mark the start of the conflict that cost the lives of a million British Empire servicemen.

Parts of the robe were stitched into a banner that has hung in St Leonard’s Church at Minety for decades above memorials to villagers who died in both world wars.

The robe- a chasuble worn by priests to celebrate Holy Communion – was discovered in a German dugout at Cambrai by a man from Minety....
