ARTISTS from all over the world will come to share their favourite recipes and stories in a musical and culinary fusion at the Taste The World stage at WOMAD.

Musicians from all over the world will be donning their aprons and swapping their instruments for wooden spoons, whisks and woks to bring WOMAD audiences a taste of their homelands with their favourite recipes.

The selection for this year’s line-up is sure to get tastebuds tingling from ‘Manti’, Turkish dumplings with caramalised tomato sauce and garlicky yoghurt , cooked by the psychedelia band BaBa ZuLa to Lemon Bucket Orkestra’s Balkan delights ‘Pierogi’, and Rura’s Scottish ‘Cullen Skink’, a smoked haddock, leek, onion and potato soup.

Afro-soul Queen JoJo Abot will be turning up the heat with her tongue-tingling dish ‘Red Red’, with fried plantain, black-eyed beans and a host of spices that will transport audiences to the heart of West Africa, whilst Anandi Bhatacharraya will be bringing the sumptuous flavours of India to the Taste the World stage with a traditional Bengali Curry ‘Chicken Rezala’ and self-proclaimed ‘ethnic chaos’ quartet Dhakabrakha will whip up a Ukrainian ‘Borscht’ soup; beetroot based , intense in colour and flavour with a range of creamy toppings.

Whipping up treats at Taste the World isn’t just for adults as WOMAD will be running daily cookery workshops for children too.

Every morning younger festival-goers will get the chance to learn how to make tasty tapas, irresistible vegan-style sweet tasting ‘kicker balls’, smoothies and ‘nori’ vegetable rolls with luscious dipping sauce.

There will also be a variety of food traders across the festival site from Indian snacks served fresh at the Dosa Deli to Himalayan goodies from Tibetan Kitchen to Spanish treats at La Paellaria, visitors can eat their way around the world at WOMAD.
