Success for trio of high achieving Beavers from Malmesbury Featured

THREE children from 1st Malmesbury Beavers have achieved the highest award in Beaver Scouts.

The trio of Euans Lacey, Owen Brockett and Edward Dimbylow reached the standard required for completing the six Challenge badges over their time with the troop.

They completed the badge criteria by attending sessions which saw them working with the community, including Malmesbury Against Plastics. The tasks included creating and cooking over camp fires. canoeing on lakes, abseiling off structures and solving problems as team.

Euan Lacey became the first Beaver to achieve his Chief Scout Award, while completing all 23 badges possible on the way as well as completing 15 staged badges, which are taken by all Scouts.

These included a range of skills including digital maker, hiking and nights away with an increasing level of difficulty said Gynnette Ranger-Walsh of the Beavers.

The awards were presented at Malmesbury Abbey by Rev. Richard Venn.
