Against other dog-friendly establishments, Whatley Manor came out top dog.
General Manager Sue Williams, said: "Welcoming dogs to Whatley Manor Hotel and Spa makes our beautiful house feel like a home for both our guests and team, and with our large and wonderful gardens we are able to offer the perfect space for two and four-legged guests to stretch their legs, blow away the cobwebs and relax.
"We're huge dog lovers so to receive recognition for something that comes so naturally to us is a real honour and a wonderful start to the year.
"We've been a dog friendly property for a while but working with such a highly-regarded company, PetsPyjamas has really helped us grow our four-legged clientele."
It was judged on dog-loving atmosphere and staff, having three or more dog-friendly rooms to book, dogs having access to some communal areas and able to dine with their owners, dog beds bowls and treats provided, and a nearby dog-friendly attraction such as a woodland walk or a beach.
Co-founder of PetsPyjamas, Karen Hanton, said: "Having sent thousands of dogs and their owners on getaways since the launch of our dog-friendly division in 2014, we understand exactly what is needed to delight canine guests and their owners.
"We work closely with accommodation partners to create exclusive packages, all-inclusive deals and extras just for the dog, and our awards celebrate this new level of customer service and understanding in the hospitality industry.
"We believe dogs are very much part of the family and that holidays are much more fun when Fido comes too.
"The properties we work with share this ethos and have proved themselves to be truly dog-welcoming, going that extra mile with special touches to excite our two and four-legged customers.
"We're thrilled to share and reward those properties that have particularly excelled this year with their own unique brand of dog-friendliness, and Whatley Manor Hotel and Spa are such deserved winners of the Best Luxury Dog-friendly Hotel award."
